Hey everyone: I've been a MASI member for about a year & a half now, but since I joined HAAS at the recent auction, I'm going to start submitting my fish for BAP to this club as well!
I already bred Apistogramma cactuoides, Cuban Limias, & Orangefin Halfbeaks last year, but I'm going to try to breed them again for BAP for HAAS. However, I have several species currently breeding, so I plan to have some good baby fish at the comming meetings. I recently succeeded in breeding Lamprichthys tanganicanus, the Tanganyikan Killifish, and I'll be bringing those to the April meeting, if all goes as planned. I should say that this is also a HAAS target species. I have two other species of killies, both Nothobranchius, which are "annual" species (N. rachovii & N. rubripinnis). These both laid eggs this past winter, so should be ready to hatch in the next month or so. Once hatched, they grow like a weed, so I'll be able to bring them in for BAP right away. Just recently, I also had Neolamprologus leleupi spawn, as well as Synodontis petricola, both of which are doing fine thus far. I'll hope to have those at the May meeting. I have many other species that I'm hoping to breed this year. After I've BAP'd the ones mentioned, I'll be moving onto these: - Corydoras sterbai & napoensis - Belonesox belizanus - Dicrossus maculatus & filamentosus - Celebes Halfbeaks - Poeciliopsis prolifica And hopefully, more to come... |
