TOPIC: Corydoras Sterbai

Corydoras Sterbai 1 year, 7 months ago #30931

Ok we need to pick the collective brain. Our Corydoras sterbai spawned again, yeah! Haven’t been able to get meth blue it’s not carried locally over here. We lost the last set of eggs to fungus right around auction time. But in our digging through extra stuff can across some jungle fungus clear. Does anyone know how it would be with eggs? These eggs seem to be more fungus prone than others that we have raised. Right now they are in a deli style container with an airstone, and then placed in a filter to keep it darker. Typically we use sandwich and shoebox containers. Any ideas would be great

I've used hydrogen peroxide.

Patty

How much peroxide do you dose at? Never heard of using it, but always willing to learn more tricks. It is the same style container we got the killies eggs from Kurt in.

I just heard about the peroxide to keep the eggs from developing fungus. The disadvantage (From what I was told) was that you have to add it daily since it dissipates.
The Plus side (From what I was told) is that unlike Methylene Blue, it does not stain your silicone seals on your tank, or air hoses. I am going to try Peroxide once I get more info as an experiment and see how it works. I was also told another PLUS to Peroxide was that you can actually see the eggs versus the Methylene Blue and the Dark Almost purple color the tank water turns when mixed.

I would like ANY Info on Mixture ratio's of PEROXIDE either per gal, 5 gal, and 10 gal.

If anyone has used this method in the past with success, please share.
