well... looks grim for getting the plants in by this saturday for the meeting. I sent the e-mail that was requested for the order to the address listed on the site, and when I called him today to inqure, he said that address doesn't work and he hadn't updated it. BAH. I re-sent the order, but I'm doubtful it'll be here by friday/saturday. AARGH.

Hope the plant order will be better put together than the site. Kind of scares me. Have you ordered from this guy before?
Hopefully it will all work out soon. I am ready to start planting very soon. Still excited. Jack |

Gack!
Well, JackD and I would probably have to get it another time anyway. If it falls through for the meeting, I'd be willing to drive out and get them during the week, and then can hand them out in the Lee's Summit area, or Independence since I drive there several times a week. |

What is the status of this plant order?

I apologize for not updating everyone. Roger (at aquabotanics) has "accepted" the paypal payment in full for the order plus shipping, and if I use my imagination, he's at this moment slaving away putting plants in boxes and heading to the post office to get them to us... but that's my imagination. I asked him to send me a message when the plants are being shipped so I'd know when to expect them. There were already a couple hangups with his contact options on his website being incorrect, but I figured out the proper channels. I'll call him again today and see if I can get a ship date from him.
p.s. I haven't posted much in the past few days as my internet is out at the house, but I'll try and make sure and get this situation updated before I leave work this evening. |

Any shipping notification yet? He is not wowing us with promptness but that has just been my luck lately.

yeah I haven't been wowed very much at all. No. No shipping notification yet... he's a bit... nonresponsive as of late. Oddly enough I caught a post from another buyer on APC about Robert with exactly this issue just a week ago. I think maybe he's slipping! I'll try calling again in a minute.

ok... just got off the phone with Robert.
Long story short.... the plants are going out on Monday UPS second day so I should have the plants no later than Wednesday. I only say wednesday because I work with UPS a lot at my job and I never trust their second day guarantee. I believe it was Jedal who wanted the Red Temple and Cuba and wanted to split it with me. Robert does not, in fact, have Cuba in stock. I told him instead of shipping nothing, send Needle leaved Ludwigis and if you still want half of that, then it's all good, if not, I'll front you the $1.42 or however much you paid for half of that and I'll just use the needle leaved ludwigia myself. I didn't notice it in his stock on his website or I would have ordered it myself, as I've always been a huge fan of the plant. Sorry for all the confusion and wait guys. Other than the one caveat I mentioned above, everything else should be shipping on Monday to arrive Tuesday (Wed. at the latest) |

Hey! Thats actually better about the lack of 'cuba' because I just lost my emerse setup to my new betta, and I don't have high enough tech to support it submersed. I was looking for the arcuata long leaf, and didn't see it either. Good call!
The down side is that I'm going to Arizona on Monday, and won't be back for a week. Here's hoping we can find a place to put my stuff til I get back. |

well... I guess I could plant them in my growout tank (or at least wrap some plant weights around the stems and set them in my tank til you get back. I don't mind either way. They would be fine in there. Plenty of light, Co2 and delicious ferts
*edit* I'll just grab a couple of those tiny pots and plant them in there with SMS and a bit of peat at the bottom to encourage the roots. Or just SMS if you don't want to have to rinse peat off. Let me know. |

I'm trying to remember exactly what I'm getting. I think everything should be ok just floating or held to the bottom with weights.

You are going to be having a lot of anxious plant buyers next week. I am a little surprised they are shipping them 2 day this time of year too. Jack |

well the only reason I didn't have him ship them the day we were on the phone was that it would have run into the weekend and I don't trust "guaranteed" shipping dates on weekends. I'm hoping that this one portion of this order will be the part that works as planned
I apologize for not thinking about the order coming in so close to thanksgiving, I'm not really a holidays kind of person so it didn't really occur to me. |

....ok.. the ongoing saga... I spoke with Robert yesterday on the phone in the evening. He said he "missed his window" for shipping Monday. Since I was talking to him Tuesday evening, I assumed that meant he simply forgot for two MORE days. I'm not sure. Either way, after speaking with him for a bit I told him how antzy his customers were getting and how very soon we'd just need our money back. He offered to ship them today overnight (which skipping the thanksgiving holiday when they won't deliver) will arrive Friday guaranteed to my house. I'll be calling him shortly to get a definite tracking number for the package, or a refund for the order price, either way.
Once again, I apologize for this "experience" and hopefully the plants arrive no later than Friday, in pristine health and we can all laugh it up years from now when we remember where that immense Java fern came from. -James |

I think I would have told him to forget that. No sense the plants sitting for a day. He could have shipped overnight Friday to arrive at your house on Saturday as a much better compromise. Whatever if it works out and the plants are alive an well but he kind of sucks to say it as nice as I can.
If it does not happen, cancel. There are lots of plants in the stores right now to buy. My 2 & 1/2 cents on his idea of making it right. Not so right. Jack |
