This has been happening a lot on some other forums, but I haven't seen it here, yet. This serves as a heads up.
If some of you received a Private Message (PM) from someone on this forum telling you that you had a virius or something like it on your computer, this is a total fake. It's pure spam. Additionally, DO NOT click on the link in the PM. My browser warns me that this link would direct user to a malware site and resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. This kind of spam PM was seen as early as 2002, with the exact same content. There is no way that someone on here can tell you if you have a virius on your computer just by you logging-in to the forum. If you do receive this type of message, please post their username here and I will ban their account. |

Thanks for the reminder and the heads up. This is a really friendly site and there is a high chance that you will meet many of the people. With that being said, most of the people would actually sign a name or give you more contact info.

I got one from the MCA pm saying it was from the MCA admin.
Thanks for the heads up. Walter |

I got the same message on my computer last night, but I was not totally sure where it came from. However, from reading these posts it is now pretty obvious. Thank you for posting this message!!! HAAS members and guests beware...

'Cept sometimes. Most of the time, the vast majority, yes. Ever once in a while you'll see a little spammer clique, that addresses someone, personally, in a rather unpleasant fashion, without the fortitude to do so eye to eye. Seems silly. Usually it's not so queer that'd be anyone that actually aquires and/or seeks to aquire/trade in your preferred plants/animals, but there may have been odd exceptions. None worth mentioning. Thanks for the warning, Paul |

The only place I ever get spam from is when I put something on Craigslist! UGH!
