I was unable to find a thread similar and thought I would start one.

What do you do for a living?

Also, if your job is service related, do you mind if other members contact you if they need that service. Will you trade work for fish, plants or other misc.?

To start things off...

My day job is Mechanical Design Engineer
I also do freelance 3D design when projects arise.

I teach a 3D engineering software during the spring semester at a local college.

I am also an amateur car mechanic, proficient with computers, and reasonable with woodworking.
I would definitely consider trading services for aquatic "stuff"

Happily retired secondary school teacher and counselor. Put in my 30 years and got out.

I have freelanced some landscaping and pond building/maintenance from time to time. Taught adults night classes on basic computer use but I have fallen behind in that subject area..

Nothing exciting for me, I am just a stay at home dad. Before that I was an office manager at a vet clinic and repaired copiers for xerox.

Right now, stay at home dad. In a year or two I'll go back to work, I hope.
Formerly, was a supervisor in a land-line telecom repair facility (voice and data), and after that a legal assistant at a law firm.

OH, and before that I worked on my parent's farm and cleaned cattle trailers (there was a slaughter house in my home town).

Geological Engineer working as an Environmental Engineer for the last 29 years in hazardous waste corrective actions and the above and below ground storage of fuels and other oils.

I will retire in 4 - 5 years, which makes me smile!

I'm a Software Architect specializing in J2EE application development. I possess a degree in Computer Science from Kansas State University. I currently work on Business Software for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

When I come home from work, I'm not terribly interested in applying my craft in my spare time, so I'm not really interested in odd jobs for hire or even service for fish-stuff trades. Besides, in my field, even the simplest problems usually take 3-4 hours to resolve at a minimum, and I'd rather spend that time with my wife, family, friends, and/or my fish

I am a retired mailman who has lost his zip.
I have learned to do lots of things through the years by watching and then doing. House, farm and automobile repairs are some of the areas I have learned a little.
With 9.5 acres of land with horses and other critters, I know quite a lot about our animal's health. I even know a little about fish and the hobby.
My problem is now that I know about these things is being able to do them. My latest project is working on my refrigerator. Will I be successful, don't know, but time will tell. I have fixed them before.
If I am physically able to, I am usually willing to give it a try. I am willing to give advise when asked. But I don't have time to actually do any projects for others.
I have too many fish related things now.

I have been employed at Sprint over the past 21 years. My Title is Access Planner (formerly Access Planning Engineer). Essentially, I manage the costs we pay for access lines to cell towers and customer locations. I optimize these connects with increasing levels of bandwidth. I work with a lot of RF engineers and electrical engineers that help drive the demand that I manage circuits for. Recently, I was asked to represent our group of about 40 planners in some technology solutions for Sprint's future. It is an interesting change of pace looking towards the future. The other part of my job is to manage a few of our software applications that we use for data analysis and inventory management. It is a constantly changing environment and I swear I learn something new everyday! Maybe I just relearn things Anyway, if you have any problems with your Sprint service, I would be happy to help!

I'm a dispatcher for the Lenexa Police Department. I've been here nearly ten years and get to retire in another 19 - woot! Prior to this I was a social worker. I spent several years investigating child abuse and even more working in two different residential facilities for kids. But I think my favorite job was when I worked at a local Dickenson theater. Oh to be 16 again...

I have no skills aside from quick decision making, multitasking and using common sense

That may be the biggest understatement I have ever heard. Walter the knowledge you have and share with us is priceless. Don't sell yourself short.
